What is MTKFlash? :X

Sorry for such a noob question but I guess this is the place so...
I was wondering what is MTKFlash? I keep reading about it in tuts and on forums and yet, I cant find where to download it, I dont know what it is, what its used for, how I use it, how I configure it, ect...
Ive looked on google and downloaded MTKFlash 1.83c...Not sure if this is the right thing and right version.

Mtkflash is the program that physically reads and flashes samsung drives with Xtreme firmware. It is included with all the samsung firmware packages, as well as Xtreme Boot Maker.

hi there duketape yes mtkflash is the program to use but depending on your drive virson this might not be the only program you will need.1 do you have the dvd firmwere hacks Xtreme Firmware .for example if you have a m28 dvd drive you will need a via chip set or a card .well if you need any help ears my addy feel free [email protected] that for msn
