What is the chip on a jr programmer ?

Can anyone tell me the chip that is on board a jr programmer ?, i have three that are not detected, divers and everything are installed correctly as i have a good one that detects straight away in in jrunner, i want to replace the chip on board and reprogram it, does any one know the file that i would need to program to the new chip, if of course anyone knows what it is

I can't remember the exact name of the IC that the JRP uses, but I am pretty sure the firmware files for the JRP and JRP V2 are included in the J-Runner download.

Put your JRP in Bootloader mode and try writing the firmware first before you consider replacing the IC since this has been known to revive seemingly dead programmers in the past.

yes, that was my first point of call, i thought that the writing process of the chip would identify the chip, alas no....i posted on here because tx developed them
