That's one of the funny things.

I'm a xbox noob but have done wii mods etc.

The guy that did the mod on my 360 did a pretty clean job! His soldering skills and wiring were meticulous.

This was on their website. I hope you get your problem sorted out.

OK, here's an update. Got a surprise call tonight from the shop that the unit was ready.

Unit's main board was replaced and machine is up and running again. Worked at the shop and I took it home.
Using Xexmenu I was able to run a backup from the HD and it ran smooth for 20 minutes, great.

I rebooted and thought I'd try backing up one of my originals. Went to run xexmenu and got a black screen.. arggg!.

Probably just take it to another modder now (no rrod atleast) but wondering if anyone here has some insight on xexmenu now black?

Thanks.

Just a thought here, if you installed xexmenu to hdd try removing the hdd, burn iso of xexmenu and try booting xexmenu from disc, that will at least help you diagnose whether its actually mod install issue or just directory/hdd issue.

Ok, google has been my friend and I think everything is OK now.

I think xexmenu defaulted to the usbkey the installer used.

When I booted with a usbkey in, xexmenu was happy.

Back ups are fine, everything seem good.

Happy Ending, I hope.

Thank you for the support from the forums!
