System updates occur with or without an account. Even if you are banned. When you see update nag for individual games, it's clearly prompting you to update the game, not the firmware.
Not trying to be a jerk to you but this is the most important rule we have, and I'm a little annoyed that
@NexNus has wasted much of your time on this wild goose chase looking for keys you do not need. Unless you're making a forwarder or using something like NSCB, you do not need to waste the time.
I want to address something first, as cordial as possible, and that is that I in no way am here to argue, accuse, or otherwise show contempt to anyone on this site, whether staff or 'customer'. I understand you are not trying to be a jerk, and I believe what you wrote. However, it is somewhat off putting for you to believe someone has wasted their time on me without asking me if that is indeed the case for me. In no way do I feel that
@NexNus (or any other's response) has wasted his time on me. I even thanked him/them for his/their responses on a subject I clearly do not know enough about. And indeed, his responses have been helpful to me, just as the other posts on this thread have helped me, because it helps me understand something I know very little about.
I have no problem in admitting my ignorance on the matter, and have clearly indicated within my posts that I am indeed ignorant on this issue (the issue of keys at least and the requirement for the keygen named thing). Being as your latest post seems a bit hostile, in written form at least, I am left to imagine the perceived hostility is from the location I get my updates from, and not the action of requesting for help. And I would like to clear something up with that if possible: That is, I am not downloading "games" at all from any site, which is currently a jurisdictional gray area within the USA, for owned games, nor 'games' I do not own, but rather updates to the games I own, which do not fall under the categories of backups or ROMS. Finally, my request for help is not for anything other than understanding what the requirement for "Keygen 8 (7.0.0 – 8.0.0) – master_key_07 [etc.]" is. Why you are assuming illegal/illicit actions by me, more than what my actual request is for, even after I stated there are none, I do not fully understand.
This has been an important (factual) detail for me once I deleted my Nintendo account: That is, once you do that, your Switch gets nothing, at all, from online. That includes, from my experience, system updates. I know this to be true, because when I deleted my Nintendo account some time ago, there was a system update (9.1 I believe) that would load itself onto my Switch while I had the account active AND existing. Removing the update with the power+volume combination results in it downloading anew when connecting to the internet and having an account. It does not, however, occur when you delete your Nintendo account. It doesn't even let your system go online without first making an account, ie. it blocked connectivity. It even stops displaying your game hours played on your system. Once I found that SX Pro was compatible with that update, and since I was still within the account deletion grace period, I reinstated my account, and installed that update, along with any other game updates available at that time. After doing so, I again deleted my Nintendo account, and have since past the account deletion grace period, ie. I can no longer reactivate that account, and any of my digitally purchased games, would deactivate and become unplayable UNLESS I use SXOS. This is not assumption. This is factual experience: That account deletion was not treated the same as account banning. With account banning, the account still exists.
System updates do spawn some games to nag update requirements. For instance, Fortnite performed the update nag for itself. This is the quickest game that comes to mind. Give it a try, if things have not changed much, it should respond the same way.
With all that has been said, this statement by you, "SX OS is not piracy, it's used to play your own legally owned backups."..., I take to heart, and truly believe that to be the case. Which is why I purchased it.
But, since you bring up alleged illicit sites and what they do, please understand that the DMCA's wording (as written) can be interpreted to include ANY program, device, or site that circumvents a copyright owners software/system/protections/etc. which SXOS by wording alone does, since SXOS allows you to 'legally backed up games', and play those legally backed up games even when no copyright owner subscriber account exists. (At least within the USA.) The great thing about the DMCA is that it is always changing, and currently, its wording is not enforced for backups (or updates), in part because none of the sought after information has any of it's protections circumvented, which is a requirement.
I apologize to all within this thread request for help understanding something I could not understand on my own. It has not been my intention to get any of you in trouble for your help within, or outside of, this site. I am sincerely sorry for causing any of you any hardship for my having done so.
