Instaleld the X3 right when it came out but they didnt post that you needed to insulate the alt 5v pin till a couple months later and i think my box shorted out. if this is true or not how or what can i do to fix this problem if any? the chip still turns on and both the HD and the samsung druve still work....the box just wont boot. I get the 3 resets then red and green fragg.

Any suggestions?////?????

thanks.

As long as you haven't modified your HDD, I would try removing the X3 just to make sure your xbox is working. You could also try the long power button press to see if it will boot to the M$ dash.

bios?

It could also be a corrupted bios...

have you tried loading the backup cromwell?
Try booting by pressing Power + Eject at the same time.
If you can boot this way, you may be able to reflash your bios.

I didn't have a problem without running the 5v pin. i believe that was only for version 1.6 and 1.6b. but than of course you could of burnt out the DO point, or a wire isn't connected.
