Hi what programs do people usually put on a hard drive, sorry im a complete noob. Just wanted to know what to put on my new hard drive and was unsure

i mean bios and stuff as well, i wouldnt know where to begin, which is best for the 1.6 xbox? will be getting a 200gb HDD soon, and just waiting for my X3CP to be delivered. I would like to copy games and films on to HDD.
I heard that there is a way that you can watch films without using the dvd kit, so that u can use controller, is this right? And anything else that might be good.

Check the STICKY'S for your chip and version xbox for bios.
Apps for xbox:
new dashboard - you decide, avalaunch, evolutionX, UnleashX, Nexgen, etc...
dvd2xbox - rips games to hard drive
dvdx2 - plays dvd's instead of using M$ dash
Xbox Media Center - name say's it all
You also want to learn how to use MIRC and get access to Xbins Click here for instructions
That should get you started you need to do research and learn as much as you can about what your doing.
Later on you will want to get into emulators!
