Ok, so I know for a fact that 300 gb is safe to use, since there are a few people that have one. In my particular case though, I have a 160 gb Western Digital right now. I am going to be copying everything from that hard drive to the new one I purchase, and I'll put that in my Xbox along with upgrading from my Xecuter 2.x (lite i think?) to an X3 CE when I can get one... I'm having trouble working the modchipman.com, and it's a little bug they tell me is happening with some of their website users.

Ultimately, what is the easiest way to do this whole process and will it matter what size or brand hard drive I use?

Thanks,
Josh

Well, Western Digital and Seagate seem to be the best bet and out of those 2, I'll be getting a Seagate later on.

As for the process - you need to be able to backup everything on your current drive to say your PC - all the partitions. Once this is done, and you have your X3 installed, it's a DODDLE. Go into the BIOS - (having fitted the new hdd) and select the disk tools - this will take you through and configure the hdd in like 5 seconds (literally!)

Once that's done, just FTP everything back over and you're done! - Easy !
