What should i do??

Hey! im really stuck here... i have a broken Xbox the reason is the HDD its dead. I have an Xecuter 3 CE and i installed it and i made the STUPEDEST mistake EVER! I accidently plugged a v5 output from the chip to the on/off Eject controll pannel! I totally fried it and i re soldered it to fix it but the controll pannel it still broken. I am buying a new one and i was wondering how i would be able to get the files from an Xbox HDD to put on a new drive so i coud use it. If anyone has any sugestions i would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks in advance

maybe a slayers disk

i think there is a disk floating around on the net that comes with retail dash, not sure what one... but neways.. hope this helps.. also you can use a modded xbox's harddrive files if you have one available..

Thanks alot deadn'married! well actually im just starting modding so i only have one Xbox so far and im not even done with it. Im 13 working with my dad haha... well thanks again for the help! do you kno if you or anyone else can send me a backup of your HDD maybe?? if you could that would be great. I dont need anything really just the stock files.

Sending 80 gigs would take virtually forever, lol.

Download Slayers 2.6. It has the retail MS Dashboard on it, along with the ability to reformat a HDD.

ok you wouldnt be able to get the files off the hd if it is dead. with slayers using evox and ftp use can format a new HD if you didnt fry anything else inside your box. I would get a new HD and try that before buying a new XBox since HDs arent that expensive and you could use it in the new xbox if your old one doesnt work.
