GENERAL what to buy?

Hi there,
long time stalker, first time poster

I have 3 xbox 360's in my house:
My Arcade,
My old Core
and the "family" premium.

My core got the RROD out of warranty so I left it and bought a new one (the arcade) but recently bought your RROD kit and fixed her right up
Now I'm interested in modding it...
Reason being is I have gotten through 3 copys of Halo 3 and 2 alan wakes due to my careless handling of discs!
so it'd be nice to have a console where I can play my games without worrying about killing them. I'm not fussed about getting on live as I have my arcade for that.

The trouble is I'm not sure what products I need?

would this work for any console regardless of disc drive and motherboard?
Also (sorry if this is massively noobish) I take it these kits can be used more than once? In case we decide to buy another family xbox 360? (doubtful we will though)

yes - completely reuseable, and this will be suitable for all current xbox 360s......remembering slims need unlocking

yes mate with that your set for anything except maybe a slim drive, but it will do some of those too, others just require more hardware but if yours are all phat consoles don't concern yourself over that.

I've got a mobo in my PC with a INTEL SATA chipset, can I use this for the DVD drive connection or is the VIA necessary?
just it'd be handy to connect my DVD to the ESATA on the mobo without having to stick the VIA card in

If you're gonna get the x360USB u don't need SATA - it connects to your USB port
