Hi,

I was wondering, if I startup from back-up bios and set switches like
on on off off and I start flashing.
What will be flashed? The back-up bios or the 1024kb bank?

Regards
Bogie

Let me rephrase my question :

I modded a Xbox v1.6. First it wouldn't boot using the X3.
No 3.3v seemed to be the reason.

I solved that problem and the xbox started correctly.
I set the switches to on on off off and started to do a netwerk flash

I used the web interface to flash to the 1959 bios for the 1.6.
When I came back to watch the xbox (It's in another room) it was off.

When I switched it on it started fragging.

Now I can start the xbox in M$ mode and through the back-up bios.

When I start it in 'normal' X3 mode it will frag.

And now for my question :

If I start from the back-up bios and have my switches to : on on off off
What will I be flashing, the back-up bios or the 1Mb bank?

I don't want to screw up my X3 back-up bios and not be able to start-it up anymore.

For some this might be a noob question but I really can't find a satisfactory answer anywhere.

Please help me.

Mod 360 without getting banned from live

I have heard scattered reports that there have been firmware updates that allows you to play on live, with unedited backup disks. However, I don't have enough background knowledge of modded firmware to know if it is up to date, or whether it was found to be a foobar. I have read the tutorials, though I am hesitant.

Where can I find how to mod my 360 without losing my ability to play online?

Re: Mod 360 without getting banned from live

put it this way... NOTHING is safe at all right now on XBox Live. if you decides to go on there at all it's a major gamble.

you have to wait for 'iXtreme LT' which is not out yet if you want to be as safe as possible. (even with this it could be possible to get banned if MS already flagged you if you signed into it now. but this is speculation)

but as people have always said... only way to be 100percent safe on XBox Live is to get 2 consoles. 1 for backup's and the 1 for XBox Live use with original game discs. (this you can be pretty safe is a fact ;) , no one will disagree with this)

I am sure that there is no sure fire way, because even in the places that say that they can play without getting banned, they still distribute the 'use Xbox live at your own risk' message.

What about the article below, is there any truth to it? What is the eta of the iXtreme LT? Where can I get it when it comes out?

Can't you not get banned if you run games that are 100% unmodified?

I don't know all these abbreviations! I am a complete noob, coming to these forums only after about 2.5 hours of research.

Please explain the complete configuration that you meant by OFW.

Re: Mod 360 without getting banned from live

I meant 100% unmodified, but ripped on iXtream. I heard that Microsoft detects modded Xboxes by using discs with removed protection, or the Microsoft encryption key. That iXtream is special because it does not run discs without the original protection so that people are not detected on live. As long as you run discs properly ripped with protection, can you get detected?

Microsoft do not as much detect disk it has more to do with the FirmWare and how it behaves
