Hi everyone,
I have recently been bit by the mod bug and now could use a little advice on where to go from where I'm at. I successfully modded my Corona V2 board with a CR4, and decided I want to learn more and develop my skills by doing more modding on different mobo's. I've gone ahead and purchased a JR Programmer, USB Pro V2 with Probe, 5 CR4 chips with Corona upgrades (they're free!), and 3 Phat QSB kits. I purchased 5 units that were inop and have so far gotten them all to boot and stay stable through reballs/repasting. Before I get too far ahead, 2 were Xenon's and 3 were Falcon's. I gave my partner who does reballs a Xenon and he knocked 40$ off the price for the other 4. So I have 3 Falcon's and a Xenon to play with. Now I've discovered that of the 4, only 1 has a working DVD drive and the Xenon is on 15574:frown:. So I'm left with 3 Falcons that have been reballed, on 2 however the DVD drives are inop and unmatched.

Falcon1: Dash 15574, No DVD drive for it. I have no idea what the original drive was.
Falcon2: Dash 13604, Same as Falcon1.
Falcon3: Dash 13604, DVD drive working thanks to POT Tweak (Thanks for the guide Ubergeek!)

So my questions are,
1. Which glitch methods are recommended for these dashes? Im assuming RJTAG
2. Does it even matter with the CR4?
3. How can I replace the DVD drives if I don't know what the originals were.

If I've posted incorrectly I do apologize. Thanks in advance!

just rgh the falcon and get the dvd key that way/ if u have a coolrunner revc or cr3 lite or cr4 will get the dvd key off of it/ jrunner will tell u drive type that belongs in console/ falcons 1 and 2 can be rgh1 if u can find a coolrunner revc or cr3 lite if they where my system I would slap a cr4 glitch them all to recover dvd key n models that belong in them:D

If you want to keep them as retail you will need to check the OSIG once the KV is decrytped (after you've RGH'd them) and replace it with the same drive type (and flash the correct firmware and drive key). If not, you dont need to match the drive type, only flash the replacement drive with the dvd key found during the rgh process.

Like John said, rgh2 for the keys is a good way to go. First question u should ask yourself is which are staying stock and which are staying hacked after the keys have been recovered. For those staying stock, use rgh2, it's a quicker install and will give u the keys pretty quick if your installation skills are up to scratch. For those staying hacked, use rjtag as it is generally quicker boot times. Once u have keys, jrunner will tell u what drive goes with that particular board. If u using rjtag on the falcon 2 and 3, u will need to rgh2 for keys and then update to 15574 or above for rjtag.
