and just to add to Martin C's post

the DG-16D5S drives are not currently possible to be read or flashed...work in progress

the DG-16D4S drives can be by the methods you discussed depending which chip is on the pcb - replacement pcb, kamikaze or sputnik

As martin c said, yYou either have DG-16D4S or DG-16D5S.

The DG-16D5S can not at this time be modded (possibly not even dumped without extreme measures).

The DG-16D4S can be modded. It needs to be unlocked though.

Some DG-16D4S drives have a MXIC chipset. These drives require the sputnik360 unlock method(a trace cut and a resistor)

Then there is the winbond chipsets, which require drilling of the chip to achieve an spi unlock.

You can also buy a replacement pcb for the DG-16D4S drive.

You cannot at this time buy moddable replacement pcb's for the DG-16D5S or unlock it yet.
