Hey guys,

I'm not exactly new to modding the Xbox 360 it's just I never flashed a Slim before. I have all the necessary tools for the Phat drives just not the slims.

I just bought a slim to test on and it's made before August 2011 I believe.

What would be the easiest way to flash it? Is soldering required at all?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! :)

You need to find out which drive the console has and which SPI is on the PCB.

You will need to unlock the SPI before you can write any firmware to it.

The JungleFlasher PDF explains all of this.

I think the easiest would be the mxic pcb, using the trace cut and Sputnik probe. Think that is more failsave than doing the kamikaze on a winbond pcb. Easiest of all would be of course an unlocked replacement pcb. But like bl4k3y said, determine first which of those you have. Mxic has 03 printed and winbond 05.

it would be easier if you said what drive you had in the console and the chpset it has.. that way we could advise you the route to go.. much easier than us guessing and giving you all scenarios

The easiest way is the way described for the model drive you have. Refer to JF PDF for the answer.
