When did DG-16D5S replace 16D4S

Hello,

I got this console I'm thinking about buying.

The MFD is 03/08/2011, so I'm hoping this is a 16D4S but not sure.

Anyone know when 16D5S production started?

They started appearing in consoles tagged with the Manufacturer dates after Late June 2011.

It is likely a console of Aug 2011 will have one. Only real way to check is to open it up.

To recognize drive model you can listen the xbox start without disc in console:

D5S

You won't know till you open the Xbox.

So far I've seen July 2011 with 16D5S and September 2011 with 16D4S (1071 in fact).

yea u can determine all 3 actually just by boot up sounds
