Oh I'm a little jaded ....
Service is very good - my brother ordered an XLCD and a crystal swich - all came as promised, very quickly.
On connecting it (XLCD) I noticed there was a large ish purple haze area over the top right corner of the display, when it lit up. No problem I thought, I can live with that - and it's brand new.
A little later - I'd installed it in my case, just cut a hole for it - all was well, it worked and I was happy although still looking at the purple section!! Well after a week or so it died - spreading from the purple corner and covering about 70% of the display, was now not lit up properly. I could just about press the display case edges and get it to light up.
No problem I thought - only a month old (not even that) it's in it's warranty. Looked at sending it back to BB - and I have to pay to send it, and prefferably recorded. So, Ok, fair enough - did that - was told if it was damaged by me - that was it, not covered etc. Well I know it wasnt asI had been very careful and it had been working fine after I'd installed it - have pictures to prove it.
He emails me first of all to try and say it was the contrast control - not having that so he eventually agrees to take it back. Emails me after receiving it saying he's tested and it's been damaged in transit or by me.
So .. I am XLCD less and now have to pay to send it back to me (no point!) or buy another ....
Thats the way the cookie crumbles I guess ...
Just goes to show that companies are only as good as their returns policy. In my job if there's a problem with an item - we replace it under warranty, and let the company worry about the expense. Is it too much to expect equal service for myself, to that which I give to other people ??
