When soderless is not soderless

I purchased a used xbox today. Completely closed and all. I opened it up to discover it's a v1.0. While about to install the soderless Xapt3r for X.2.6CE I discover the holes are filled in:eek:

Shocking but this is the 3rd v1.0 I've encountered where the holes are filled in with soder. So now, I have to remove the soder to install a soderless chip...LOL

Has anyone else seen this who has a v1.0?

the xapter does work even with the holes filled (haven't tried it myself)
also it would easier to just do a wire install than get all the solder out

simply heat up the solder and drop the appropriate color wire into the hole

i don't own a v1.0 but i've seen a few with the holes filled

You mean heat up soder and drop the connector into it. The holes I'm speaking of are the holes the chip goes into it self. But I will try it.

Thanks. I can't do soder, because of accident. I don't want to mess it up... but hey I'll try with the adapter once more.

just to clarify
i was speaking of the lpc holes of the board in which the xapter pins would be placed into

the chip would either sit on the xapter, or on the wire harness for wire install

i'm not sure of the 'connector and holes the chip goes into it self' you're talking about

Those are the ones. it actually works fine without those holes being open. It was the D0 that wasn't pushed in all the way. The issue is no mo'

Thanks Bro
