Ok, so the only thing anyone can tell me is, "You're flashing the WRONG things." There are alot of people who know everything to know about modchips, modchipping and all this sh*t, but there doesnt seem to be anyone out there that can tell me where to find the correct bios. My modchip is correctly installed and works fine in my v1.0 xbox. Its an Xecuter 3 CE Solderless modchip. I am at the point where I can set everything up I just have the wrong bios file. I have DVD-Rs, nero and everything set up. I've been trying to get answers for almost 2 weeks so I can finally use my god forsaken modchiped xbox. So if there is anyone out there who know where to download everything neccisary to make the CD for my flash bios, please reply to this post. I get home from work in 9 hours so if someone will reply by then I will be more than thankfull.

Go to xbins. There is an auto tool for getting there in this forum. Or, you can follow another tutorial that shows you how using mirc also available in this forum. You will need flashfxp and winRAR. When in xbins, find the x3 bios folder. open it and find the latest bios 3294. Use 3294v1.6 in the file if your xbox is a 1.6. If it is not a 1.6 use the 3294.bin. Make sure you select the bios rar file and don't just drag the whole bios folder over or, if you are in xbins via the long way, the robot will throw you out for being greedy. Burn this bios with a dummy and load it.

you will need to download the bios from xbins, use this

http://www.teamxecuter.com/downloads/xbins.rar (2.4MB)

go to the x3 section and download the latest bios currently 3294, download the file to your hdd and open with winrar, extract the X3_3294.bin to your desktop.

then get the dummy file creator from

http://www.teamxecuter.com/index.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=19

create a 100 mb dummy file with above program.
rename the X3_3294.bin file to BIOS.bin.

Then follow
http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/cd.htm

Hope this helps.

Although it would be easier to flash via HTTP

http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/http.htm

I downloaded the XBINS, then downloaded the X3_3294.bin, renamed it bios.bin, made a new dummy file (100mb) and it didnt recognise the cd. It said no bios found......

then downloaded the X3_3294.bin, renamed it bios.bin
You missed a step, download X3_3294.rar and extract it. Then you'll have X3 3294.bin, rename that, pad and burn as above. Or flash via http, no dummy file and/or disc needed.

First of all I'm not computer illiterate. I didn't name it bios.bin.bin, I have my computer set to show the extension names of all files for similar purposes. Second of all, yes, I did extract the .bin file from the .rar file.

Here is the rundown.

I have install the physical modchip, (Xecuter 3 CE Solderless Combo) in my V1.0 XBOX. I put a 320GB HDD in it. It starts up in all 3 ways, with the modchip switch blue, red and purple. I am at the point were it says to flash my xbox. I have DVD-Rs. I have Nero 6.6. I have the Dummy File creator and the 100MB dummy.bin. I've tried using the Flash Bios 3.0.1 and 3.0.3 and then I was told I'm flashing the "wrong thing". Then I did what Matt said to do, I downloaded XBINS, ran it, got the X3_3294.rar and extracted the X3_3294.bin, renamed it bios.bin and made a DVD using the proceedure on the tutorial listed above step-by-step. It said no bios found.

If anyone knows what is going wrong please input their thoughts and/or ideas.

also rename the dummy file to summit beginnin with a so it burns before the bios file, the reason you need a dummy file is because the xbox drives have trouble reading ffrom the very begginning of the disk.

It is interesting that it tells you no bios found? From my experience that is indicating that its reading the disc but not finding the files. So your media type should be o.k. I'd try the Http method as suggested by matt.

OK, I've already read that tutorial before, there are just a hand full of things that they fail to actually explain in any tutorials I can find.

First: What is a DHCP, where would I go about getting it? what does it do?

Second: What is Static IP, all they says is it is 192.168.0.99 but they don't say how to set it to that or what program to use to set that as your IP.

Some people, like me, know absolutely nothing about IP adresses and that junk, I'm running off a 56K dial-up modem and every page takes 2-5 minutes to load and 3MB downloads are taking me over 45 minutes. So all these people telling me to go to 50 million websites kind of dont realize that going to just this forum takes about 10 minutes from loading my internet.

I'm sorry if I sound like an a**h**e, but I have been trying to get my modchip to work for 15 days... I work full time, I have a wife and a kid and I don't have as much time as alot of people out there to try to deal with this annoyance. (The modchip, not you guys)

ftping is the way to go
Unfortunately you can't FTP flash the first time, you gotta use HTTP.

Ryan, DHCP (very basically) is where your IP address is assigned by a router or computer or something like that. Static IP is where you decide which IP to use and key it into the right spot.

To use Static (easier in my opinion) Just connect your PC and you Xbox with a crossover cable. On the xbox select http flash. and then wait. After a while it will say "falling back to static ip = 192.168.0.99"

Then you open an internet explorer window on your pc and in the address bar type in

http://192.168.0.99

It should bring up a new screen giving you the option to browse for you bios. If not your computer may need to have it's Ip set to the same range i.e. 192.168.0.??

I think, and I may be Wrong, it is still your media. I have a samsung drive and it absolutely will not read dvd-r, yeah I know that is crazy but true. My box is 1.2/1.3. It will however read dvd+/-rw and cd-r the latter being a supposed taboo. Try one of these media types an don't get discouraged we will help you figure it out.

I got the same message using dvd-r you did.
