I have my modchip *on on off off off* like the FlashBIOS said but I can't find the X3_1959.bin file anywhere. When I flash it with the X3 3.03 256 K file it says its flashing my chip, does the process turns off and when i turn it back on it still says FlashBios 3.0.1 on the screen. Also when im flashing through Http my computer says FlashBios 3.0.0??? any clues??

Hi mate.... You really need to spend a few hours in all of the forums on this site..... Read the NooB guide twice at least.... It is a bit daunting first off but almost all the answers you need are in there...... Read Read Read and take your time....

Anyway, here is a bit of help for you (direct from the NooB guide) ....

p.s. you may have to flash your new 1024k BIOS to the second 1024k bank now as you have flashed V3.03 to the first bank. Dunno if you can just overwright this or not (See...iIdont know everything either!)

Yes you can overrite the 1024k 3.03 flashbios on which ever bank you have it on with the latest X3 bios.

What I do is on banks 1-4 I have the latest 1959 X3 bios, then on banks 5-8 I have a 1024k 3.03 flashbios and I have the 256k 3.03 flashbios on my backup.
This way, I can update my bios via http to which ever bank I want/need and am also double covered if anything were to happen to one/some of my banks, and I can do an easy upgrade in the future (although you can also boot into X3Config and update the bios that way as well when a newer version comes out)

Is it possible to install an xvid codec update without Live?

I've been banned from Xbox Live for modding back in November of last year and I just realized that I need to download a new 'media update' for my Xbox 360. Problem is that I'm banned and I understand you can do dashboard system updates through either dvd burns or usb drives. Problem is, I don't know how to specifically install an xvid/avi file reading capability for the Xbox 360 and I don't believe it falls under the dashboard update.

One unlikely theory of mine for using dashboard updates would be to use the Fall '07 dashboard update that specifically mentions Xvid codecs, but even if that were possible, how can I download and install that specific update to my flash drive?

Thanks.

Re: Is it possible to install an xvid codec update without L

unfortunately, its not possible
as each codec is signed to a specific xbox

JTAG is your only option, but its unlikely your kernel is exploitable
