I kind of disagree with you on that part. If I download a game... Does that deny the authors there income... if I never planned on buying the game? Just like... movies, or mp3s. If I like it, I will get it and play it... If it's unavailable... I'll still get it.... like SNES roms. If they come out with a 2000 SNES rom DVD for Xbox... Damn right I'd buy it... It's supporting the authors that makes them come out with new items. Well... "Some" People... have lots of games, just to collect. With the cheapness of DVD-R Media... it's not really a waste of space. Some games that come out... I'm sure no one wants, but a lot of people have.
I myself - if I made software... Of course I'd want to be paid for it. The idea... that if it'd be allowed for people to use it for free if they werent going to buy it, would threaten me to... A LOT of people would just start getting lazy... not putting the proper value to the software... And therfore, everything they dont own... and cant afford... it'd just be free to them.
