@MartinC,could you use nand-x instead of jr programmer?

For reading/writing yes, however with r-jtag rater is a nice tool and the jrprogrammer will let you do that not the nand x. If you want to fly blind on the install the nand x will work fine.

If you're just installing proto v2 chips and have no need for RATER or SONUS functions, sure.
