I know BB, bought a lot from him over the years, he chipped my PS2 before I got into soldering. Very good guy and I will probably go with him but I figure it can't hurt, his website list price for 50's. The reason to buy a 1000 is discount that's the only reason and you've got to be pretty certain you can shift if you buying a 1000 if I took BB's price for 50+ £31 that would come out at £31000, that's far too much realistically, although I'm sure BB would do me a good deal. But I figure that it can't hurt to enquire in the forums, maybe I'm blind but I couldn't see a contact email for team xecuter. Basically if I'm going to run a business I need a decent profit margin for it to be worth it. I'd like to go with X3 because it is the most famous modchip and obviously has the most selling power, I could cop out and buy a cheaper modchip or try xenium. (I wouldn't go with smartxx as they seem to have there own political issues).
I need to make this profitable otherwise it's not a business it's still a hobby (In fact it would be a disaster). I'm pretty certain I could shift a 1000 modchips but it would take me some time. (I'd have to be certain as I'd need to take a bank loan for about 1/2 of the funds so it's not like I could f**k about I'd have a lot invested in making this work). I still have 8 weeks to work off notice to my old company so it's more seeing if I can make it pay at the moment rather than an all or nothing.
I base my ability to shift a 1000 modchips on I chipped 150+ boxs last year with no advertising past word of mouth and I'm moving to London where I'm pretty certain I can shift a lot more through contacts/gorilla advertising/website/hand of god.
I could just cop out and buy a sh*t load of cheap ps2 chips as I can get them cheap and people care less about the chip inside their ps2 as long as it works, I have a bit of a thing for xbox's though.
