So my kid wants me to figure out how to mod his xbox 360 slim 500 gb , so he can use "modding menus"
In black ops and other games, he doesn't need to be able to play burnt discs or iso's from a hdd.
Im assuming for you guys to point me in the right direction you need to know exactly which slim 500
He has. I've read for a few hrs here and it seems the only way is to disassemble the xbox, if their is an easier way,
Or this is unnecessary please let me know. So what this boils down to is, where do i start?
Sorry i'm total noob and ty in advance for your time and efforts here, my kid really appreciates it.

You can usually get a general idea of what motherboard you have by checking out the amperage on the back of the console. Here's an image for more info:

You can't mod the latest slims as far as I know (winchester models). You can mod the Trinities and the Coronas though. In my opinion the Trinity is the easiest of the two. Either case you'll need a glitch chip (CR4xl) and something to read the NAND (JR-Programmer works well). The basic gist of it is you: Strip the box down to the motherboard, read the NAND, Write the ecc, retrieve the CPU key, write a custom NAND to it. After all that's done you should be able to load some HOMEBREW (avoid any talks of piracy or stealth on this forum please). Once you got all that done you can load up trainers or any custom mod for the game. Two words of advice though:

1) If you're not comfortable with soldering, don't do it yourself. There are tiny points on the board you have to solder wires to, you don't want to damage the xbox. If you're not comfortable with soldering, either practice on some dead electronics. Or pay someone on these forums to do it for you (they're services are usually pretty reliable and affordable).

2) If you buy a glitch chip yourself and decide to do it yourself. Only buy from either, Team Xecuter's trusted resellers, or trusted forum members. There's allot of fakes/knockoffs floating around out there. If you buy a clone or a third party glitch chip, this forum will not help you troubleshoot it.
