i don't think the ban lasts forever, however i could be wrong

X2 5032 is current bios and recommended to use

this tutorial explains how to use xbins
http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/xbins.php

make sure you do all the reading you can inorder to avoid mistakes

these forums and xbox-scene are great places to get info from

thanks for your reply MKchampion!

ok i managed to get x2 5032 bios.

IM TRYING TO CREATE A BIOS BOOT CD for 2.6ce chip on xbox 1.3

im a bit stuck here been using the tutorial on this forum:-
http://www.teamxecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24996

when i try to open 5032 bios with ev tool i get an error message saying KERNEL EXTRACTION FAILED why do i get this error should i try a different bios?

so i skipped that bit and went straight into x2 bios manager

FLASH TYPE IS SET TO AUTO

and loaded Xecuter FlashBIOS v3.03 into bank 1 and 2

Bank 1 and 2 have two 256k files both same

then i loaded the 512k x2_vOld_512k.bin into Bank 3

looks like this

+-------+
| bios1 |
Bank 1 | 256k |Xecuter FlashBIOS v3.03
| |
+-------+
| bios2 |
Bank 2 | 256k |Xecuter FlashBIOS v3.03
| |
+-------+
| bios3 |
Bank3 | 512k |
| |512k x2_vOld_512k.bin(not recognised by x2b manager)
| |
| |
Bank 4 | |
| |
+-------+

both files have same original names do i need to rename them???
is this procedure correct??
x2 bios manager does not recognise 5032 bios it says unknown

also it says in the 5032 readme:-

In a nut shell read the info below - its all pretty basic. THE ONE SIMPLE RULE
we ask of you is to MAKE SURE YOU USE THE X2CONFIG.INI THAT COMES PACKED WITH
EACH NEW RELEASE. FAR TOO MANY PPL IGNORE THIS THEN BITCH AT US WHEN THEIR sh*t
DOES NOT WORK CUS THEY USED A 5028 INI FILE ON 5031 - OR THEY USED A 3RD PARTY
INI FILE CREATOR THAT WAS NEVER DESIGNED FOR THE LATEST BIOS. I know there are
a few ppl out there reading this right now and feeling your ears burning right?

SO ONE LAST QUESTION WHERE DO I PUT THE x2config.ini
if the above is correct will i have a cd with im guessing now?:--

BIOS.BIN 1024k
DUMMY.BIN 100MB
X2CONFIG.INI 3KB

if you've got flashbios on both banks, there no need to be flashing with a 1mb bios file

you've got the X2 5032 vOld bios version which is already 512k, so there's no need to use X2 Bios Manager to re-size or make a 1mb bios
when you flash X2 5032, the 512k bios will be on the first bank and you'll already have flashbios on the second bank

you can use this guide to help you out with making a disc to flash and how to flash using the disc
it explains all

http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/

the X2config.ini file goes on either the E or F drive
there's no need to rename anything
remember to patch the bios with there partition settings you'd like (refer to readme1st.txt that came with bios download)

you can put the config file onto your drive by ftping it to your box and transferring it over, this can be done after you flash the bios

so after installing the modchip i just use internet explorer on my pc with a crossover cable (xbox link cable) and enter my xbox ip to flash the new 5032 512k bios?

then use flashfxp to put the modified lba48 config file on drive E (my xbox standard partition standard hd)?

sorry to sound so noobish but i am a noob to all this and dont wanna make a mistake and incur the extra cost of a programmer lead.

oh and MKChampion you truly are just that "Champion geeza" thanks for all your help!

There isn't a best dashboard. My favorite is Avalaunch. I don't know if AutoInstaller 2.0 has 5032.

The config file you are putting on your drive is not an LBA48 config file. It store settings for the bios (boot order, led color, etc). Read the included readme file in the 5032 zip.

No, they are different. Flashbios will allow you to do nothing but flash your bios. Cromwell will allow you to boot Linux. People on this board seem to call flashbios cromwell all the time though.
