this is really weird, and very difficult to explain, so i've naming the 3 machines A,B and C.
A=1.4, 2.6ce, frags
B=1.3, 2.6ce, works
C=1.4, 2.6b, works
i've tried this chip(2.6ce from machine A) and bios in a friends xbox(ref 'B'),the xecuter works fine (the xbox(refB) doens't have the focus graphics chip, but the other type). When i try the xecuter 2.6ce(from machine A) in xbox(ref'A') it doesn't work, neither does my friends chip(2.6ce) from his box(ref'B') when tried in xbox(ref'A'). So I assumed it was the adaptor, not so. I tried an older style chip (still a 2.6) with the solderless adaptor to check if its the adaptor that's not working, and it works. and then i retried the 2.6ce chip (from xbox(refA)) in the xbox(ref'C') that had an older chip installed, but also had a focus encoder, and it doesn't work, just frags. so i'm presuming there is an issue with this bios and the graphics cards in machines A and C. When i check the BIOS installed on machine 'C', its says bios unknown, so i'm not sure which is a working bios for the focus encoder.
Is there a problem with this bios(4983 1mb) and the focus encoder??? Or can someone let me know which bios works with a 2.6ce and a 1.4 version xbox with focus encoder. Please help, its frustrating!!! thanks
