Which Bios

I just ordered a 2.6 Xecutor CE solderless version.

Trying to figure out bios to install I got hold of X2.5035 will this work with above chip ? What the bios size will it hold 512k ?

What do I do now ? Create dummy file and burn to DVD, then after fiiting chip when i start xbox flash bios screen comes up load from CD/DVD and insert this disk ?

Thats my guesses is it right method.

Brand new to xbox, so please excuse daft questions.

yes the x2 5035 is the one to use but you have two of them
x2 5035 for v1.0 to v1.5 xboxs
x2 5035 v16 plus for v1.6 and v1.6b xboxs
on the xecuter site there a how too make a bios cd use a cd-rw not a cd-r.
flashbios will coming up will depened on xbox you have if you have a v1.0 to v1.5 and v1.6 it will come up on bank 1 and if you have a v1.6b xbox you find it on bank 2
flashbios 3.0.1 works on v1.0 to v1.5 and v1.6 xboxs
flashbios 3.0.3 work on v1.6b xboxs
once you boot up the xbox and find flashbios then with out rebooting xbox change the bank setting to the other one this is so you do not flash over the flashbios
eg. flashbios is on bank 1 then change to bank 2 with out rebooting xbox then put bios cd in and flash bios to chip
and if you find flashbios on bank 2 then change to bank 1 with out rebooting xbox then put bios cd in and flash bios to chip
if you flash over working flashbios you will have to buy a progermer or do a hotswap

I have a 1.0, also from the docs i read, i thought flashbios 3.0.3 works for 1.0 to 1.6 and 3.0.1 was to be used for 1.6b

So, i boot xbox on the default prob bank 1 on my chip i think, then i switch it to bank 2 and insert the flash bios CD and follow the instructions, sounds good ?

I am sorry, read some more posting 3.0.3 is for 1.6b as you said.

X2.6CE only has 2 switch settings (Banks 1 and 2)

Please re-read DJBOOBY's post on flashing the X2.6CE.

I have re-read and re-read teamxecutor flashbios pages in particular the disk one. I have a concern, it says in the guide :-

FIRST STEP IS TO MAKE SURE THE MOD IS IN 1MB FLASHING MODE. IF YOU HAVE THE SWITCH CONNECTED THEN YOU NEED TO SET THE SWITCHES TO "ON ON OFF OFF OFF" THIS WILL FLASH THE X3 BIOS TO THE FIRST 1MB PART OF THE X3's 2MB FLASH ROM. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE SWITCHES CONNECTED THE X3 WILL DEFAULT TO THE FIRST 1MB ANYWAY.

From the above I cannot work out whether to carry this out before turning xbox on or after turning the xbox on, it does make that clear, DJBOOBY post indicates as i have a v1.0, bank 1 should be set and turn on xbox, then change setting to bank 2 and then insert disk and flash.

Sorry to carry this on, I really don't want to mess this up and thus trying to be very clear on what i should do. (PS - trying to avoid having to buy programmer)

your reading the x3 chip guild if your chip has the switch on the frount of xbox and has a x that changes color blue pulpe red and five small switch you have a x3 chip
if you have a switch that look like this and has three switchs it a 2.6

so if you get flashbios on bank 1 you have to change it to bank 2 before you flash the chip with bios you do not have to reboot xbox just get flashbios screen up then change to bank 2 you will still see flashbios screen then you put in cd with bios then flash it

You are right i have 2.6 CE my problem is that from the teamxecuter home paeg the links on the side showing links i click the 2.6CE link but it points to this same doc which as you say is 3.0 chip.

Is there a 2.6 document you could refer me too ?

Hey guys. I hate to overlay your discussion, but It seems that I have the same needs. I have the version 1-1.5 xbox. I had a 2.6 soldered into it. Are the bios your discussing for? I mean Hacked I guess/ Or allow to play copied games, or am I in the wrong direction? Thanks..

flashbios is for putting bios on to your chip
the x2 5035 is to run your backups as well as dash apps
