Which chip do I have?

Hey, I'm completely new to this whole mod thing, I'd appreciate any help.

First of, how do I know which chip I have (I got it done in Hong Kong, these people only spoke cantonese), when I start up the box a red logo comes up in the top left corner saying "evo x". How do I know which version of the chip I have, is there any way to tell without opening the box.

Next thing, I have XBox Dash v1.8.3285, from reading around in a few forums this seems to be a bit outdated, is it worth upgrading it? Would that include "flashing" the mod chip?

Last question, I bought a 120 gig HD, for some reason partition6 is only a little more than 60 gigs, why is that. The guy who did the mod told me that it has to be like that, the other part is supposedly used for saved games etc. so I'm missing around 60 gigs, can that actually be the case?

Well it sounds like you have a 1.0 xbox with the Evox Bios. ITs really hard to tell which version of chip you have without more of a discreption of it.

Ok, from the system info I got this:
K 1.00.5101.01
D 1.00.4920.01
This is when I start the box not using the mod, so if this is the version number, I guess it would indeed be 1.0.
I'll try to open it up and to post a picture. Called the guy, in his very broken English he told me it's a Aladdin 7.0 chip, never heard of that one, and I don't know if he knew what he was talking about. I'll just try to post a picture, gotta find some tools first.

Do you know what the deal with the HD is (the missing Gigs)?

I that case, you are posting in the wrong forum, on the wrong site - its not an Xecuter mod chip, and (nearly) everyone here will laugh at you.

You MIGHT be able to shoehorn the X2 BIOS on there though ...

Well, I won't laugh at him. He just needs to figure out what chip he DOES have, and you won't find more helpful or friendly people for XBox modding then on the Xecuter forums. Besides, I'm sure anybody here would still be willing to help him get the X2 bios on it. Or at least that's my take.

The alladin's a PITA to flash.

You need to get/download their flash program and get the right cables.
Then MAYBE it will work.
