Re: Q>about firmware

Ixtreme LT is the latest firmware out which has been made to play backups and is safer then iXtreme depending on what drive you have is whatever FW you can use. :)

Re: Q>about firmware

so having hitachi and samsung iXtreme is not safe to play backups and go live? only lite-on and benq firmware is the best?

btw,how will i know the firmware and version of my xbox 360? i want to know all of this because the person who knows how to update it may tell me that he already update it to the latest version, but in the long run he didn't. i just don't want to pay for someone he tells people that they update it to the latest version of firmware but its not really the latest one, well i think you guys know what i mean right?

Re: Q>about firmware

Lite-on version fixes Dirty Disc issues...
BenQ fixes a security issue that caused it to be detectable by Micro$oft.

That's what I have read :)

The only method to discover what FW is actually on the drive is to Dump it's FW and check it in Jungleflasher! - However if you are able to do this yourself, then you have the tools/know-how to update your own FW.

Dude..the tools aren't that expensive to purchase...less than 100$ and your in business....:) also you don't have to rely on anyone for flashing :)

Re: Q>about firmware

you asked what the risks of modding it yourself were,
well dependant on drive type and method used to dump the fw - the risks are - if you do it wrong - you lose the fw or ability to dump it , then you have a useless xbox!
without the key that marries the drive to the motherboard your xbox then becomes a DVD player! end of gaming on it!

mickeyz
the process is easy to do if you have a bit of common sense
but im afraid if i were you i wouldnt try this
you are not willing to read tutorials first so therefore
you dont know how to do it
