I used verbatim 8x at 50 discs/$50 for a long time, until my local store stopped carrying them. The only they had that wasn't complete crap was 50 Memorex/$35, so I picked that up. I had no coasters at all so I made the switch to Memorex since they were cheaper. Now my local store doesn't carry 50 packs of those either, so now I will probably start to have to order them online. But in the end, if memorex are cheaper I would go with them. If they are the same price though I would pick verbatim, as they burn faster.

I've used verbatim ever since, never had a single issue, recently switched over to memorex (a little cheaper) and I've gotten errors on 1/3 discs. GOING BACK TO VERBATIM FOR THE WIN
I have had Memorex burn lasers up within two months look for darker undersides of discs like someone specified earlier regarding dye on the disc I have used Taiyo yuden discs before those have to be the best I have ever used but pricey 30 usd for 10

I was using another brand (cant remember which one) and I had no end of problems. Now I only use verbs and have never had one failed burn. Cheaper brands are a false economy.
TDK is as good as Verbatim

Memorex doesn't even make their own discs they have companies do runs for them that's why their quality can differ vastly
forget to mention that TDK is way cheaper than Verbatim
its even in half the price of Verbatim and work a charm
been on it for a year with more than 25 backups thanks to ap25

I been using TDK for over a year now and they work great. I got a 50 spindle for $27 shipped on sale, cant beat that. I usually install the games I play the most anyways.
I used the cheap ass Imation DL DVDs and 10 coastered out of 20.
The n I switched to Moserbaer and 1 coastered out of 10.

Using verbs and ocassionally infiniti's, but the infinitis are too unpredictable, one backup worked one day but failed to work the next.
Though was using an older burner, now replaced with a SATA Pioneer, so might give them another go, they are already paid for, so no great loss, only time if they don't work.

Also don't bother personally with AP2.5 backups, tried fable III and had no end of issues, freezing, drive struggling to read, so just gave up and played the original, however alice currently has both the wife and my attention.
