I trying to figure out which hard drive to get. I was looking at a Seagate 1600 GB 7200. Does the buffer size make a big difference on an Xbox? they have a 2 and 8 mb versions. Is it worth the extra $ for the 8 mb?

Do I need to add a fan??

Any other advice is welcomed

Thank you

This was just posted a few posts ago. Do a search before you ask these questions as they are asked repeatedly. No, the 8mb buffer is not going to make a noticable difference on your Xbox, don't bother. Also, no, you shouldn't need another fan. Most newer drives will run just as cool ;)

As software gets more advanced the size it requires will too. History repeats its self and think when computers first came out a megabyte was a big thing to have, and you could store all you needed on that one meg. Now a meg is nothing(unless your DLing with a 56K). Plus alot of ppl are useing there computers a media devices too so that require alots of room, I'm sure one day a terabyte will be nothing.

no not this year... I think 100gb is pretty big for a computer, 250 big for an Xbox and 1.6 terabytes too big or anything, except big stuff.

•·Drives·• Fixed Drives Total..::952GB::.. Free..::283GB::.. Used..::668GB::.. [43.52% free] .•«UPP»•.

Almost 1 TB of space in my computer. As you can see.... 668 GB used. Just because I added 2 200 GBs in the past 2 weeks :)

200-300 GB download a month (I'm at a hotel.. internet isnt as fast) I get 400 GB a month at my house.

Not to mention if im doing something like copying xbox DVDs I burned, or dvd movies... converting videos, ect.

1 TB is not a lot of space these days. I burn maybe.. 20 dVDs a day to keep ti at around 300 GB free space.

P.S - Got a 250 GB maxtor in my xbox :)

Above specs are 3 200 GB + 3 100 GB's + 2 160 GB + a 40.. or 20.. or something, I forget which my computer came with :\ (yes.. 9 Hd's in one computer... one mega ass power suply :)
