Hi this is my first post.Just pleased to be here to hopefully learn and also to try and help others.

My questions are:
Which MS Dash updates and flashes dvd drives to stock?
I think the first is 13146 but do ALL Dash updates after that release also update dvd firmware? And if not, is it possible to jump and miss a drive firmware update so a drive for example Manufactured 2010 could remain on 0225 firmware on the latest Dash to date v 14719?

Also what was the Console manufacturing dates that contained the MXIC dvd drive chipsets? Were they just the very early batches released in July2010? I'm looking to buy one secondhand but don't know what to look for

Thanks

updating past dash 13146 is the one that flashes back to stock.
0225 drives are factory locked so don't change.
Updating past dash 14717 changes cb's to try to block rgh being done
Updating past dash 13599 locks 0272 which were previously 9504
Mxic chipsets ther's no definitive way to check, just opening the console and checking the drive

Nowhere
13146 started all the drive flashing, but as long as one dash has flashed you u wont be flashed by another, but every dash update since 13146 will flash you if its never been done by another dash.

ok but I thought there were drives with 9504 and 0225 firmware on the MXIC chipset that were not write protected that were then flashed by later Dash updates to 0272 stock firmware and SPI locked. But don't know which exact Dash updates do this. Does 14719 for example??

14719 also flashes the drive back to stock.
Really, would only affect phat drives, since all slims are now locked
Well that's something i didn't know ! First I heard of it

Dash 13599 locked any slim drive that wasn't already locked

If you have 9504 and you update to 13146 your drive becomes 0272, if you update to 13599 your spi will become locked

Yea read on these forums somewhere that some 0225 drives were wrongly labeled 9504 and had the MXIC chipset. These were later flashed by updated Dash to 0272 firmware just because they were not SPI locked.

Yeah I overlooked the fact that he was working with a slim. But yes I know for a fact that even if you have been previously flashed by 13146 dash update. Dash 14719 will return your drive back to stock if you dont flash stock before the update.

I was reflashing my brothers console and ended up loading the LT3.0 in target by mistake when I meant to flash stock. So I updated it on LT by mistake.
