I recently ran out of my 0.7 Rosin core wire and went to Maplin Electronics for an alternative in the mean time until i get another batch of Rosin core. They stated that the Lead Free silver solder would do the job...but it really does not do the job, It's hard to place, doesn't adjust to the temperature of the pad or iron for that matter. Plus too thick.

Just wondering what solder wire you guys use or any recommendations rather than the standard i used. Definitely not lead-free, i am avoiding that from now on :p

I use Kester 60/40 Hi-tech electronic Rosin core older and never had any soldering issues. Melts nice and quick, nice stuff to use.

I prefer 63/37 noclean solder, it's instant setting (unlike 60/40 which is pasty before setting), and as the name implies, no need to clean with water or alcohol like rosin core or RMA solder

I wouldn't be using acid core solder on Xbox 360's. What are you using to neutralize the acid?
Thats what i was thinking with the acid!
