I ordered some white LEDs, installed them and turned em on and they look more blue than anything. What would cause this?? Someone please help me! This is my first experience with LEDs.

that's just how they are man, unfortunately a clean white led does luminate blue streams of light, don't ask me for the technical term but I learnt that one when LED'ing out my lexus aircon and dash panels.
Best bet is to get as high MCD LED's as you can get, then depending on where your placing them and the effect your trying to get.
e.g. if you want to make it have a direct point/dot to focus the light on then leave as is

but if you wanna make a glow effect where the light is evenly dispersed you get a fine sander and sand teh round head down, that way when installed it will disperse the light more cleanly giving a 'glow' effect.

Yeah I wanted a glow effect. My XBOX is orange and white, The X being orange and sides being white. Front panel orange with white middle and orange eject panel leds. I put the white LEDs in the port and did some vent lights. The blue tint doesnt look too good at all.

unfortunately that's how LEDs are, see when you check out the latest mercs/beemers etc they all have the superwhite iodine headlights and they appear blue same thing applies here. Something to live with unfortunately, but if you maybe put one of two blue LEDs in there it'll surely make it look white when you compare !

Yeah my friend has blue LEDs from the same place i got my white ones and they are definitely blue and mine arent blue, they just look that way. Im prolly just gonna take out all the white LEDs and put in orange ones. Ill prolly sell the ports with the whitish blue LEDs in them to my friend. I have an extra set of ports so Ill add orange LEDs to them then take out the white vent lights and make em orange. Also I was gonna make a white jewel light jsut gotta cut the hole. But now I think Ill just make that orange as well, but then I wonder if its gonna be too much orange......Who knows.

personal opinion, - orange/green are the most common colors that come out in LEDs, but whatever tickles your f4nny. Depends on what color box you have. e.g. Mines clear so it's pretty much neutral but a white LED job will enhance the clear look making it more luminious etc etc..
See how ya go. I'd love to check out pics.

the problem is that natural light is shifted toward the infrared spectrum and true white is closer to the ultraviolet end than sunlight making them seem blue. you can really notice this if you wear orange snowboarding goggles for a while then take them off and look at the snow
