Before you go on closing this thread the main reason I ask is because I want to prove my friend wrong more importantly this forum: http://www.thetechgame.com/Forums/p=35075156.html#35075156 (Last page shows how all use clones)
A good amount of people purchase from that forum and a lot of their sellers use clones on their consoles even the trusted sellers. Now I know that it's not your site so it's not your problem but what about those who purchase consoles from there? It's just not fair to them. I'm looking for a more professional answer like something that proves it without a doubt maybe Martin C or Ubergeek will be kind enough to bestow knowledge upon them.

I personally don't use clones and I'm not looking for support just a fact that will prove them all wrong. I'm currently satisfied with the performance of my R-JTAG no need for clones....

I think it is that they are not tested and carelessly made. I sent my Jasper for an RGH service and I was told that my coolrunner was broke, and he replaced it for an extra $20. When I got it back it turned out to be a clone. He happened to send to send the broken coolrunner back as well and I installed it and it worked fine. So I got ripped off $20. So anyway I have direct experience with these clones and their terrible boot times. Usually it took about 2-3 minutes to boot. But now I have the real thing, so it boots decently.

alot of clones have bad connections/solder joints, and since there are bad solder joints, and crappy cheap parts used to make them, they perform crappier, if at all, and since they are clones, the people producing them call them CoolRunners which takes buisiness away from TX, as people figure it is the same thing, then when they cant get it to work, they complain that TX products are junk, which anyone who has used a real TX product knows is the farthest thing from the truth.

Also when I tried to change the timing for my clone (not knowing it was a clone) it wouldn't boot at all. I think it already comes programmed and you have to use it with the timing it comes with. Which some might boot quicker if the clones were able to be programmed differently. TX coolrunner did everything right in my opinion.

How about for the simple reason that you'll never see a Proto, CR3-Pro, R-JTAG or CR4 XL clone?

Think about what it is people buy (which is effectively TX's work) and then sell off as their own.

You also have no support with them. they are made with inferior components with much less quality control. I've personally seen clones with bridged components.

I have consoles sent to me all the time with crappy boot times or stopped glitching all together. Some of these consoles are using genuine TX products and it was simply the installer did crappy work and didn't take the time to tune it. Several however have come to me with clones and every single one that has crossed my bench has had a bad CPU. The cheap knock off clone killed the CPU. The only time I've seen a dead cpu with genuine TX products is when playing with the CPU_RST Cleaner and having to many caps on at a time.

1. They have no quality control
2. They steal from TX by passing their junk off as TX product and it gives TX a bad name for those that cant tell the difference
3. They use crappy components that are prone to fail causing the chip not to glitch or worse yet killing the consoles CPU as the chip fails.
4. They do not offer support of any kind
5. It should be a crime to do what they do. Same as piracy IMO.
6. Because we said so!
