Hi.

I have one phat xbox360 with hitachi f47 - ixtreme lt+ 2.0 - dashboard 14699 and falcon motherboard(Has returned from ms because of rrod at xenon motherboard)

I try to play xgd3 games with ap25 or topology date and burned with old method truncated(Not with liteon ihas pc dvd-recorder) and all the games(Batman arkham city, final fantasy x-ii, soul calibur v) i try it bring the classic messate "disc unsupported"

When i try one xgd3 game wth new topology or the old ap25 sector but with the liteon ihas pc dvd-recorder it plays normally.

Is that correct?
I mean because the hitachi f47 drive DOESN'T support the reading ap25 sector isn't logical that even the games with truncated method plays normal?

Can you explain me please what happening?

And if i can play truncated xgd3 games to this phat - falcon - xbox360 with hitachi f47.

Truncating IS NOT supported and will cause problems.

Just because the drive doesn't perform AP25 checks, doesn't mean that discs shouldn't be burned correctly.

To be honest, I don't know why a VIP member is posting here..... this section is for n00bs/new members who aren't very familiar with what we do here.

Because i believe this is a newb question.

And i still believe that the truncate method it is one very nice method for ixtreme lt+ 2.0 NOT for lt+ 3.0 and for the drives that doesn't support ap25sector so...

If there is anyone that can answer me to that with proofs please do.

And please reset the topic to mark i had(non-hitachi79)
THANKS.

A truncated disc doesn't contain all the data required to be authorised so to speak, it misses around 3% off the end which is why you get random errors during gameplay.

The most of the xgd3 games don't use 3% only the fortza motorsport 3 use it so...

If i flash the f47 with an older ixtreme than lt+ 2.0 then can't i run the truncated xgd3 games?

I'm wondering what part of 'No support for truncated discs' you don't get.

If you think that losing the last 3% of an image is fine, great. We don't.
