Why flashing the Bios to 3.03 ?

I see a lot of threads and news about flashing the Executer with the 3.03 bios.
But nowhere to be found why to flash it.

Is there a changelog, is it something we users must do or is it optional ?
I realy like to know before I 'risk' a bios flash ( you never know if something goes wrong ) what i gain with the latest release.

PS: I must say ithe announcments are fuzzy on the topic, is it for all executer versions ?

If you release stuff that could damage your hardware, make sure you supply all the info ( changelog )

It's mainly for 1.6b xboxes...

Help with lite on 83850c

I did a bad flash and used dos to bring the drive back but now the driver don't read any games hoe do I fix this

do you have the original dump of the firmware?

if you can't play an original game then you didn't get the dvdkey transfered.

plenty of threads to help even tutorials out there


no key wiped drive = possible scrappage (unless you find a pro to extract the key from the motherboard) good luck

While I flashed a drive before this one and had to use dos but I did the same as the other drive but this one will not play any games can I use the info from the other drive to fix none working one or is the drive no good

If you dumped the key/fw from the drive before you bricked it, then you should be able to reflash it /or upgrade to iXtreme fw. If you didn't get the ofw first, then you are basically screwed.

I have a benQ 84930c drive can I use this in place of the lite on 83850c and if yes how right now the BenQ works but when I put it in the other xbox it only reads dvds is there a tutorial for doing this.
Also I still have the info for the good flash I did with the first lite on pls help

ok if it only plays dvd's your drive isnt flashed with the right key

its all been done before people try and flash there drive think they have the key or dont save them erase the drive, drive crashes mainly due to driver issue's

then try and do it again or failing that put it back in xbox thinking they have got away with it, then you get DVD only playing

so your possibily in possession of a large white/black dvd player

lets hope not

what I am saying is that the benQ works it is new never been flashed

I have a xbox that had a bad flahed lite on in it the Benq works on my xbox

But not in the Xbox with the bad lite on flash are you saying the xbox 360 itself is bad or are you saying the benQ drive is becaues the BenQ drive works

You need to learn what the search button and google is for! IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT THE KEY THEN YOU HAVE A VERY NICE DVD PLAYER!

or you could just do the jtag hack, but if you can't do a liteon i doubt very much you could do the jtag hack!

what people are trying to say is that when you flashed the lite-on, if you didnt get the key then its dead without the jtag. i dont mean the drive i mean the 360. you cant just slap another drive in you have to flash the other drive with the lite-on key which you dont have.

no key your playing what you should be dvd's - M$ made sure that no key match meant wrecked xbox 360

some can get the key back from the motherboard but your gonna have to pay for that

get reading as above search the net loads of threads to be read with info

thanks flashing360 for the info about the jtag I got the stuff and did it in about 45 mins and now the xbox 360 is flashed and works. That is all you guys had to say at first instead of leaving smart a** comments shawlynot, Ricey_Moda, and mightywiz
