Why Is It That

Hi there,

When my X3 boots up with the red "x" led on i get the contact vendor error message. (I believe the red x light is boot without modchip right ??)

NB
I have installed a new hdd in it recently, and it boots fine to evox

any ideas anyone

....most likely to be error 5, you need your hdd locked to boot to m$ dash (chip disabled/red X3 logo)

write verify failed?

ok so i am trying to install LT on my 7 series lite-on drive...

it was installed with 1.6 before this...i get the drive into vendor mode, i got the key, i am just trying to flash with LT now but it starts writing gets about halfway through bank one, stalls out foR a minute, not the computer, just the bank writing, then it goes to reading the banks and fails...

anyone got any clues on what i amm doing wrong...if i missed something ya need just lemme know...

i am running XP Pro...

i've had this happen before with a benq. the only way i could get it to finish the erase/write was to do it in Dos. i'm not sure what the problem is, i tried power cycling a number of times and tried the flash over, it just would never get past the banks. i tried it in Dosflash and worked perectly the first time.

thank you...now i cant get my computer to boot the dos flash usb...iono what im doin wrong tho

did you go into your BIOS and change startup to USB device? is your flash drive the bootable kind?

ok so i did it, following a guide i found here...forgot to remove the file and disable the card...silly me...also i used dosflash to do it...
