Why so many install problems for people?

I'll probably get alot of flack for this, but hey, that's the way it goes!

How many people out there after reading the extensive amount of posts are wondering why so many people are having problems with their X3's?

I have a 1.6 Xbox in which I've fitted an X3, pro switch and LCD. Installed all my dash and apps etc etc etc on a new HDD and have a perfectly operating xbox. Sure, I run into issues and a little messing around is required as with most things but this stuff isn't difficult.
(The only issues for me was with an early bios release (now fixed, thanks Team X) and that Flashbios 3.0.3 doesn't work for me beacuse of 1.6 Xbox incompatibility. Both of which was out of my control.)

Read the posts, think stuff through first. Read soldering insctructions twice and solder once etc etc.

I am not accusing anyone of being stupid, it's just because this stuff is just new, does not mean it's difficult.
I would be considered a newb (as my member status will show) and I just don't see the same issues as so many people seem to. Just do what you would do when your trying to work on anything technical. Reasearch, read and think.

Re: Why so many install problems for people?
not pointing fingers here, but the sudden rash of "problems", is most likely a futile attempt to increase xenium sales.

I think you are being paranoid here :)
This is a support forum, so people come here with their instal problems.
Shure, there is lot of info to the n00bs (myself included), but for a n00b who fear that he/she has fryed the xbox, it's not so easy to find the RIGHT info.
The tutorials here are very good, but does not solve all troubles when you f**k up.
I might not be Team Xecuter's problem that people f**k up, but then again it MIGHT be that there is something worth answering.
I have never visited Xenium forums (so I can't compare), but there are a more agressive feeling here than ex. xbox-scene forums.
I understand that users are tired of replying to the same question 50 times a day, but then, don't answer, no need for an flamethrower.

The increased number of complaints might be a xbox v1.6/1.6b issue... (just a thought)

Sorry, this became very of topic, and I have never been flamed here (this might change rapidly :) ), just ignored ;)

if you took a moment to check out team xodus's tacics, spamming their competitors forums with fake problem threads...

the apple doesnt fall far from the tree in those respects.
granted there are real enwbies out there that really are worried, but considering the "newbness" of some of the "newbies" here, specifically putting down various aspects of the site and modchip itself, with a seemingly intricate knowledge of previous scares, one would assume that the certain "newbie's" are in fact, newbie by postcount alone.

to you it may seem paranoid, but to anyone who's been a member of these forums since the x3 was released, this sudden rash of complains neatly coincides with the latest pr crap team xodus are pumping out.
Coincidence? maybe.

before i got my chip i read for like a striaght month to decide on my purchase. in that time, i made a total of one topic. that topic was about the differences between x2.6 and x3.

the main problem i see as why ppl screw up is bc they do it so quickly bc they are lazy and don't want to take the time to do it right.

Most n00bs expect everthing to be easy, and work the first time without doing any research or work. Well heres a news flash you modifiying a peice of hardware designed not to be modified easily. I personally read all the tuts b4 I got mine, and when I had a frag I read and figured it out on my own. Some people just can't figure out how to help themselves. Though there are some who have real problems.

People are too excited and then rush the install job. Its not their fault if Team Xecuter's products are top notch. :p
Most of the problems cried about in here is a rushed install, where no care was taken to get it good the first go, people just think its good enough to know that modchips can be used to copy games and they think thats it.

-might add some more later if i can be screwd-
:D

For me, XB games are the last thing that I use my XB for. (yes, now a torrent of why did I buy one anyway remarks!). I use it as a multimedia jukebox (better and cheaper than any ready made multimedia solutions) and MAME! :D

I dont know about that - it seems pretty damn easy to modify considering the ease of the lpc points, one would almost think it was made to be easily modified or else they would not have made it so easy. They must have known that the ps1 etc were being modified when they were designing the xbox. I think it was made so easy because: 1. It was a new console and their first console thus it had to be heavily tested easily and 2. I'm sure it has added a fair few sales to microsoft evening though it meant game piracy and possible reduction in game sales.

i read everything from installing a bios to making my own dashboard menus before i got my chip and ran into no problems except the ftp which didn't work DCHP at the time, so i used static and still do

maybe it just comes naturally but in a month or so i knew everything i needed to know (also a few other random things)

as long as you read up you won't get slated and i can understand people asking NOOB questions as your better off asking than say frying your motherboard and left feeling stupid

I have read through the tutorial and about bios. I know that I will run into errors. But it seems that the support here is good.

I know some sites have Live help too. Which is alil better.

really it's not that hard. the only reason it seems like so many people have problemes is because this board is for ppl who had a probleme and need help. sadly we don't hear about all the great sucess stories. as long as you read up and use some common sense it's really simple.

the X3 is the easiest mod i have ever installed for a console!

try to install one of those "ONLY 20 WIRES" ps2 modchip, then you'll appreciate how easy the X3 is.
