Why would you automatically flash to banks 1234?

I have a version 1.6 and can only boot to banks 1234(on on off off). When I select banks 5678(off on off off) I only get a black screen.

I'm not sure, but I think banks 5678 have flashBIOS 3.0.3 which I am unable to boot<--so why wouldn't I just flash the X3_3294v1.6plus.bin BIOS to banks 5678, since they don't work for me anyway???

I'm sure I've missed something???

Also, the last few pictures on the new and old "official" flashBIOS guides haven't been working for me for about a week now???

Also If we are flashing via http, do we still need change the name of the X3_3294v1.6plus.bin file to bios.bin

I only ask because the "official" tutorial on flashing the bios says you have to change the file name to flash via CD and via FTP, but it doesn't say anything for flashing via HTTP (only says to get the X3 file and find it on your computer).

Well, I went ahead and did it anyway. I renamed the file to bios.bin. I connected to my xbox using Internet Explorer. I selected the file that I just mentenion "bios.bin" and I flashed it to banks 5678(off on off off). Guess what happened?!?!?!?!?

Glad it worked for you. Flashing via HTTP or via FTP though, doesn't require the file to be called bios.bin

It's no big deal though.

Thats great, you can put any bios on what ever bank.
Reason for bank 1234... if you unplug the switch. that is the default.
But its good that you thought about saving bank 1-4 just incase your flash goes wrong.
I would check that your backup bios works too.
hmmm.. when I flashed via http I dun remember renaming it. oh well.. still works.
