Re: xbox 1 help please
well the 100percent free one (assuming u got a PC with a IDE port and a cd/dvd burner to burn a blank cd or dvd) is to use XBoxHDM along with the nDure installer.
this method requires hotswapping which can ruin your PC and/or your XBox but i did it many times i with a older PC i got and never had any issues.
WARNING: DO NOT 'unlock' your XBox's hard drive with the XBoxHDM CD!!! (if you do this and don't have a EEPROM backup i believe your pretty much screwed!) ... once the softmod is up and running i recommend making a backup of the EEPROM file for possible future use which you can do with evox dashboard etc.
but the basic idea behind the XBoxHDM + nDure thing i was saying is you basically boot the bootable XBoxHDM CD on your PC and when it loads up etc you connect the PC's IDE cable into the back of the XBox1's hard drive and then you modify files on it with the XBoxHDM CD with certain commands and after it's done you turn off everything and connect everything so it's running like usual and then when you power on the XBox1 it should be softmoded
i also usually swap out the default dashboard (which i believe is UnleashX) with XBMC (XBox Media Center)
p.s. Hotswapping = disconnecting the IDE cable from the XBox's hard drive while the power is on and connecting your PC's IDE cable while it's power is on.
i have 3 XBox's myself and 2 of them where moded with this method described here the other has a mod chip in it which is my main XBox. i also have moded at least 2-3 others using this method and it works great. just be careful is all
some advice... you need to get the XBox1 to error out correctly otherwise you can't gain access to it's hard drive with the XBoxHDM CD. but basically with the power OFF on the XBox1 console you basically disconnect the IDE cable from the back of it's DVD-ROM drive and when you power it up it will error. then you boot XBoxHDM on PC and when it loads to it's initial screen you then remove the IDE cable from the back of the hard drive in the xbox console and connect the IDE cable from the PC into it and then proceed with the XBoxHDM process.
there's guides on XBox-Scene that explains it in more details if you need them.
