Will a D6H9 laser work in a Slim drive?

I have an old DVD player with a D6H9 laser that looks like a Slim laser, will it work in a slim drive? pictures are attached

the connector on the D6H9 laser is smaller so the Xbox ribbon cable doesn't fit :-(
