will only boot to flash bios menu- 2.6 CE

2.6 CE installed in a 1.4 (i think) using a pinheader, on power up i get a orange and green flashing eject light. It boots to the flash bois screen, from here i can update the bios (at least it looks like it does) get a 100% green progress bar and then it switches off. when powered on it just boots back to the flash bios screen.

If its a problem with my soldering (which of course looks fine) are there any clues to which point is at fault?

What sort of file are you flashing to the chip? if it is something you built in X2 BIOS Manager, what was the makeup of the banks? What bank are you booting from to load FlashBIOS initially, and what bank are you booting off of afterwards?

Guess the first thing to try right now is boot off the other bank. Still seeing FlashBIOS?

To me it sounds like your physical install is good, but that there might be some confusion in your flashing.

sounds like you are either flashing over flashbios with flashbios or you've flashed the whatever bank you're initially starting up with, with flashbios and the other bank has your hacked bios on it

it would be best to describe the steps you took inorder to flash your chip (ex. what bios you used, sizing of bios, etc.)

ive tried booting from both banks, its the same result - one boots to flash bios 3.0.3 the other to flash bios 3.0.2. What is happening?!!?

which bios are you attempting to flash?
you must flash a hacked bios to your chip

ah, ok it sounds like ive been flashing with flashbios, i dont have any hacked bios files - ive just been using flash bios 3.0.3 from this site, what hacked bios do i need + can i ask where to get one here?

Ah the penny has finally dropped!!! ive been rushing when reading the guide, DOH! I will have a go at sorting it tomorrow, time for beer!
