Hello,

Firstly I apologise for posting this question, but I have read a great number of tutorials and the forums to try and get an answer.

It seems that many of the old techniques for flashing a drive have been replaced by new ones.

My problem is I have a Silicon Image SiI 3112 PCI SATA card and I have read that this is a problem for both Sammy Drives and the Hitachi 0078K upwards.

I am going to be purchasing a new 360 (in the UK) and so would imagine itl be a Hitachi 78 (thats just a guess).

So my questions are:

With all the new tools, Maximus's toolbox etc does the SI 3112 work with Sammys?

If it IS a 78k and I flash it with this card will I brick the console?

Have 78s been successfully flashed with this card and if so what are my chances?

Thanks alot in advance for any help you can give me.

You can flash it if you want to use the vcc method. If not, you will need a VIA chipset to use the bad-flash method.

I tried flashing my 78fk with sil 3512 and failed. It produces bad dumps. Tried it 3 times and i think i almost bricked it on the 3rd try. The pc froze for about a minute before it went normal again. The sil cards are not supported by maximus tool, why risk bricking your 360?
