I've got a problem with my xbox. I wanted a new EEPROM for XBL and saw that a reputable member at xbox-scene was selling them, so I payed and asked for a 1.6 eeprom because I have a 1.6 xbox. I recieved the eeprom and I installed it using config magic exactly the way it's stated in a tutorial in those forums, everything went smoothly. But, afterwards when I turned off my xbox and rebooted without the modchip on to try to connect to live nothing came on the screen, I had a blank screen with no audio and a solid green led, and when I pressed the eject button the tray would not come out and the light around the eject button started and kept blinking green forever. I also tried to boot with the modchip (I have an x2.6 CE) on and it does the exact same thing. I also cannot ftp to my xbox. I'm assuming I was given a wrong verson or corrupted EEPROM (or maybe my 13 and 14 pins aren't soldered well enough and just happened to fail right when I changed my EEPROM, but I doubt it). Now to the point of this post: I was told that a way to fix this would be to use a 4th gen modchip to reflash the eeprom using my original back up one (it's on my PC, whew). So since i've already installed a 2.6 CE into my 1.6, it's seems logical that the 4th gen I should use would be the x3 because of the same wiring. So my question is this: would the x3 be able to do this? And since I'm getting a blank screen and my dvd tray won't open is it possible to do this? Someone on xbox-scene said he thought that the x3 had an onboard OS and doesn't need an EEPROM to boot or a bios of any kind, but he wasn't sure. Sorry for the long read, but I thought I come ask the pro's here what they think. Thanks in advance!
