With quick press power (main 2MB Flash ROM mode) I get four seconds of constant blue HDD access led, with simultaneous 17 seconds of green eject disk led (plus of course blue X indicator), and black screen.
After four seconds, the blue HDD led goes off. After 17 seconds the eject disk led changes to red.

With press both power and eject (256K backup mode) I get essentially the same behaviour, except have purple X indicator.

The behaviour changes a bit if I first use normal mode to load a game, then power off for a few seconds, then bring it back up in one of the flash modes with the game disk still in the tray. For both flash modes, I now get about 10 seconds of HDD led, and about 15 seconds of green eject led, before the HDD led goes off and the eject led changes to red.

To answer "ratedR"'s question, from what I've read in more than one posting or webpage, this new 1.6b box must have flash bios 3.0.3 or else should expect the black screen. :?

My retailer (bmmods) has offered to flash the board for me if I pay shipping both ways. Sounds reasonable to me. I just wish there were an alternate method of updating the flash without removing it from the box, shipping it, etcetera. But from what I've read, there seems to be no way to accomplish that (unless I missed a posting somewhere). :?:

Try something for me:

When the eject LED goes red, press and hold the eject button for a second. The light should flash green then go to red. try it again. Keep trying and see if anything appears on screen. I managed to get FlashBIOS working on an Xbox which shouldn't normally work like this.

NEW Ck3 probe v2 question... with ck3 pro or ck3 lite

Is the purpose of the ck3 pro/lite just to power the dvd drive?

I am trying to flash my lite on 93450c and i just received the probe v2, but, i bought a previous TAIO 93450c diy probe version, that came with a dvd drive power board ..link here..

http://www.diygadget.com/game-console-adapters/xbox-360-dvd-power-adapter-with-on-off-switch-and-power-cable-version-3.html

Will this work? (above link)

Or do i need to get the ck3 pro/lite?

Thanks gang

Re: NEW Ck3 probe v2 question... with ck3 pro or ck3 lite

This is from xecuters site..

NOTE 2: THE CK3 PROBE II HAS A UNIVERSAL INTERFACE (WORKS NOT ONLY WITH CK2 / CK3 LITE / CK3 PRO / BLASTER CK3 - BUT ALSO OTHER TEAMS' PRODUCTS SUCH AS THE 360 XTRACTOR SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO UPGRADE TO A CK3, THUS SAVING YOU MONEY)

has anyone used any 3rd party dvd powering options?

Or could i just use an old 360 system i have to power the dvd while i mod?

it works with all devices maximus, xecuter, and homemade ones. Doesnt matter. The ck3 v2 is just resistors. All it does is make the noobs not have to soder.

Re: NEW Ck3 probe v2 question... with ck3 pro or ck3 lite

Yeah well while trying to do the v2 probe, the second i turned it on to attempt the read, the connectivity kit started smoking, turned it off. Double checked all plugs, everything is correct, the connectivity kit was hanging and not touching anything at the time.

Turned the kit back on, leds come on the connectivity kit, but lite on drive dosnt eject..

This is also after i have cut the traces to allow for the read.

Im wondering if the dvd connectivity kit is toast, but if it was why would the leds still come on?

Or does the drive not operate when the traces have been cut?

I am modding a lite on 9345oc.

Ive already modded liteon 7*** ,benqs, hit, tosh, so im pretty comfy inside one of these things, also done the hdd unlock hack.. I feel like im missing something..

I am going to plug in an old drive tonight to see if the kit still powers drives, that should tell me if that portion is working..

if the connectivity kit is working, should i repair the traces and hope the dvd drive powers on/ ejects and start over?

Re: NEW Ck3 probe v2 question... with ck3 pro or ck3 lite

Also while i did all of this, i never plugged in the 3 cables from the drive to the liteon board, just left the multi colored wires connected to the liteon board(already soldered from factory), and then the connectivity kit and probe.
