I believe that the D0 point on my motherboard is bad, so I am thinking of buying a new board.. My power supply is a v1.0 and I was going to buy a 1.6 motherboard.. I have read all over that the power supplies on a v1.2-v1.5 are not compatible with the v1.6 motherboards.. But I have not been able to locate anywhere where it states if a v1.0 power supply will work on a v1.6 board.. Since everyone here knows alot about the xbox I figured this would be my best place to ask this question..

BTW the v1.0 pwrsup IS NOT compatible w/ the v1.6 MOBO. v1.0 and v1.1 pwrsups are only compatible with 1.0/1.1 models.

Benq 0800 Drive Failling At Approx 33% In Xbc

I have a switched from a kreon drive to a Benq 0800 drive. The drive 2 weeks old and on my first attempt backing up I was sucessful with 2 of my original game but had one game failled. At the time I put it down to the game thinking maybe it was a bad disc. Now again trying tonight its failled with 3 seperate games at approximately the 33% on all 3 games.

I had tried multiple read speeds as low as 2x and all failled at the same mark. As I'm writing this now I'm trying it on 1x speed and hit problems at the 93% mark. Its giving block errors but recoverying most of them. I occassionaly need to hit try again. Which means I can't even let run overnight as won't go all the way through

Should I reflash the firmware (currently has the latest 0800 firmware as only flashed it less then 2 weeks ago)? Firmware was sourced from auto xbins

Or is it a sign of a bad laser? I believe its more likely this. The drive was purchased brand new off ebay but wouldn't rule out bad hardware even though its new. If its a bad drive whats the best 0800 drive? A liteon?

possibly a bad laser if the discs are perfect. id try a reflash but doubt itll make much difference. if not then its time for a new laser mate.

Thanks flashing360. Thats what I was suspecting

However, strangely it does not appear to be that XBC is the issue and extremely fussy. Schtrom (s360x) ripped all 3 games with out issue in about 12minutes. The rips were good, all green on abgx360 but could not verify stealth (different ini file from database), stealth passed s360x checks and made duplicates rips and they had the same crc values expect rawss (as expected) in both abgx and s360x

Its the first time I have had issues with XBC ripping games and confirms why I prefer Schtrom

Somewhat related. Anyone had an issue with a successful flash of this drive then not able to burn in xbc due to no xtreme patching? Also only shows a dvd drive in windows xp sp2 32 bit. Ive looked everywhere. Please someone tell me im dong something stupid.

Were your rips original discs or backup discs?
