Win95 PC Game on XP help?

Recently I bought a 7-Cd game called "Phantasmagoria", a game I used to play the crap out of when I was little..anyways...I tried installing it to my Laptop thats running Windows XP Professional knowing all along there were going to be difficulties ahead because of such different operating systems. I heard there was a kind of emulator that can be run or some patches that can be applied to make it run.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks in advance,
Sam

there's an option in windows xp called compatibility which allows xp to emulate as if it was running windows 95, 98 or whatever. usually it works for older games that won't run normally on xp. right click on the .exe go 2 properties, then compatibilities and pick which os the game should work on.

7 CDs? I didn't know that hard drives were that big in '95 :p

The game itself plays off of each individual CD. Each CD is a different Chapter in the game.

Ahhh I remember this game... I had similar problems when I was trying to play recently FF7 but that has an XP patch. Sometimes, that right click on the shortcut or executable properties and run compatibility mode in Win 95 would work... but not always...

When I'm playing old DOS/WIN9X games I boot to a virtual machine running DOS or Win 98 using Virtual PC or VMWare... or that good ol' boot disc.

I wouldn't say an RPG, it's more like a Movie-Game. As in a game with real recorded actors in a computer graphic environment, which I believe is called an FMV [correct me if I'm wrong, anyone]. It's about a couple who moves into the old mansion of an 1800's Magician/Illusionist and as she goes through the house more, the main character Adrian discovers mysteries left behind by the Magician [I already forget his name...] and soon uncovers a Chapel hidden behind a fireplace. The Chapel contains a box and inside is the spirit of the Illusionist who occupied the house before Adrian and her boyfriend Don. I'll leave the rest of the game to you guys who just can't wait to get their hands on a copy!
