Next week I get my new stuff (X360USB, Molext, Sputnik Probe, PMT conversion cable, CK3 pro case). Then I will replace my 0225 winbond PCB with a TX PCB and try this tut on the original PCB.

Tut may be revised since its been confirmed resistor is no longer needed on the winbond unlock kamikaze method. Just the drilling.

I was wondering why the resistor is no longer needed?
couldnt find any info why it was needed in the first place?

I read on the forum some people who didnt go down too deep, and having trouble unlocking the drive after the hack has been performed had luck using the 100 ohm resistor ,it wouldnt unlock with the alcohol method.

can someone explain what the resistor does, thanks

The resistor is not needed now because jungleflasher has being fully modified to make a loud beep the sec you hit the Spi before it was hit and miss the reason for the resistor and wire then was " contact " and not to fry the ic chip..

I thought it was to pull wp# high and it lowered the input voltage under 3.3v.
