Hey guys, I'm trying to flash my Hitachi 47DJ and windows keeps freezing upon boot.

I can get the drive into modeb using the SLAX method but when i try to load windows it freezes. I have tried ejecting and closing the drive while i turned the computer back on

I'm just curious if i wont be able to flash the drive because im using windows ME, or do i have to use XP

Thanks for any help

Yeah, I've never heard about anybody using ME to do it before, thats why i thought that could be the problem.

I might try updating it to XP later tonight and see what happens

Sorry about the double post, but i got a problem now

I tried installing windows xp into that computer that had ME and i guess the computer wasnt good enough and a bunch of the files failed to install. So i decided i would put me back on it. So i put in the windows ME disks back in and it tells me that i need to run FDisk (Which i normally have to do anytime i need to install ME again so i didnt think anything of it). I typed in FDisk to get into the Utility then it gives me a message saying " No Fixed Disks Present"

Anybody know how to fix this?

Why would i have to use a connectivity kit. I'm able to get it into modeb, the only problem i was having was windows not booting with my drive connected.

I guess i will try to do it later, right now im having to uninstall all the crap that comes with branded computers

And no, i didnt get any help from that other site...i dont really care now that i got another but i might try to put the hdd from that computer into the new one and see if i can get anywhere

Alright, i was able to hook up the drive and boot into vista and flash.

It went through the whole flashing process and made the backup, but how would i go about testing it to make sure the firmware is on correctly without trying to backup a game and burn it?

Also, i read that after you flash iXtreme there is a way to easily get into modeb. I heard you boot the 360, eject the drive, unplug the 360, plug it back in, and power on and it should be in modeb....but when i try that i cant get it to show up in windows

sorry for double post again, it wouldnt let me edit

I was able to get the easy modeb trick to work

I just have a question as to which files are which

In one folder (the one that i named for my backup(X16S47-BACKUP)) i have now.bin, was.bin, key.bin , 47_16.bin, and 47_16s.bin

I'm just curious as to what the 47_16 and 47_16s.bin's are?

Also, i'm still wanting to know if its really flashed and i tried running the read.bat and it gave me a .bin. Would i compare the .bin that the read.bat gave me to the now.bin and if they are the same that means it is flashed...That is if im thinking correctly
