wird hd prob

hello i have a maxtor 250 gig hd and its about 7 months old and i am running avalunch dash as main and evox as back up along with dvd2xbox XBMC and they all are the latest builds. And a x3 chip with 1959 bois on it. but heres the prob i had a xenium and used it to upgrade the hd then i got a x3 and up till a while ago everything was working fine but now the hd makes a funny noise like a wird klunk sound. And if i am playing a game it gives me a dirty disk error or the game freezes and some times it does it on start up and the bash wont load. And some times it plays good for 2 hours then in the middle of a game it freezes. And i used to have the exact hd but it did the same thing and i got a new one and now it does it. They were bouth upgraded with the xenium chip. Do you think it could be a bad file some were and do you think if i formated the hd with the x3 then ftped all the unmodded files back over it would fix it. And do you think it might be in F drive.

PS. i also have elwire and a xlcd if that makes a differance and my friend has the exact same hd for a yea and it work perfect.

personally i wouldn't surprised if it was the xenium chip, try formatting one of your hd with the x3 bios

about the clicking sound, have you checked that something isn't catching something like a fan

have you checked the hd temps

also check you hd for damage and maybe run a diagnostic on pc

no because as soon as i hear that noise it freezes and could a bad file some were on it or a bad up grade make it do this or do you think the hd is dead i hope because i just got it. and when i format it with the x3 do i need slayers to do smething because i cant use it as i dont have a cd bunner.
