I need the wire kit to install my chip. If anyone has a set laying around i would be willing to take it off your hands, or if anyone knows where i can find a set please let me know. I dont like the pin head installer, I am a wire instal fan. Thanks for your help!!!

possible to dump nand with kernel 8498 to retrieve dvd key?

Yea stupid question, but i've been reading and searching a lot about jtag, dvd keys and cpu keys.
my situation is that i bought a xbox from someone claiming that system doesn't turn on and it has a flashed drive, so i fixed it. I also noticed the drive had an extra piece metal sticker stuck to it, like the drive had been switched. (the metal looking tape that tapes down the dvd drive to the xbox in the front) so i tried playin with the drive with an original game, it gave me the "please insert game into xbox" screen, but i read that this happens to some people. now it doesn't read games, just gives "Play DVD". I want to change dvd drives, but need to retrieve the dvd key from the motherboard just in case the drive's key doesnt match the Motherboard's. so once again, it possible to retrieve a cpu key from motherboard with a kernel of 8498?

I read that the patch just stops you from messing with the kernel, am i right? I got that from this site.

You can not retrieve your dvd key if your cb is patched. You have to decode the nand with the cpu key. Only way to get the cpu key right now is with xell. To install xell you need a exploitable cb version

The list of exploitable CBs is:

1888, 1902, 1903: Xenon, but you need to use 1920/1921 in the exploit image
1920,1921: exploitable xenon
4558: exploitable Zephyr
5761, 5766, 5770: exploitable falcon
6712, 6723: exploitable jasper


The list of fixed CBs is: 1922, 1923, 1940, 4571, 4572, 4578, 4579, 5771, 6750 (CD = 8453 for all of them).


If your dash is 8xxx or higher, your cb version is patched. Also there are 2 versions of the 7xxx series that have a possibilty that they are patched. One of which is 7379
